How to use these examples
These are original illustrations created for BeforeAfter.online, not claims about real clients or measured results. Each one demonstrates a composition problem, a responsible comparison method, and a starting recipe. Replace the labels and settings with details appropriate to your own project.
Photo restoration
Show correction without hiding the original
A restoration comparison should preserve the subject’s scale and framing. Use Fit with padding if cropping would remove torn edges or handwritten notes that demonstrate the work.

Home renovation
Align permanent architectural landmarks
Doors, windows, corners, and floor lines make strong alignment references. Try to photograph from the same height and location. If the video is vertical, use Crop focus to protect the main feature.

Photo editing
Hold composition constant to isolate the edit
Export both versions at identical dimensions. A short reveal makes tonal and color changes easy to see without implying that framing changes are part of the edit.

More responsible comparison ideas
Design iteration
Label versions by date or version number. Use side-by-side output when reviewers need to inspect both complete layouts.
Cleaning or repair
Use the same camera position and disclose changes in lighting. Avoid hiding remaining damage through cropping.
Landscape progress
Use fixed objects such as paths, walls, or posts for alignment and record dates in labels.
Document correction
Choose Fit with padding so every edge stays visible, and use the overlay tool to inspect registration.
