When a draggable slider is the right comparison
A slider is useful when both images share nearly identical framing and the viewer needs to inspect a boundary. It works well for photo retouching, restoration, rendering changes, cleaning, renovation, landscaping, and map or document correction.
A slider is less useful when the camera angle changes substantially. In that case, use the side-by-side tool so viewers can inspect both complete compositions without assuming exact alignment.

Choose direction
Use a vertical line for left/right inspection or a horizontal line for top/bottom changes.
Check the boundary
Drag slowly and watch whether permanent landmarks jump at the divider.
Save a useful state
Position the divider where both sides communicate the change, then download that view.
What the download contains
The downloaded image captures the current canvas view, including the divider and handle. It is a static PNG, not an interactive slider widget. If you need motion for social media, use the before and after video maker.
Alignment tip: the tool scales both images into one canvas. For evidence-sensitive comparisons, prepare matching dimensions and alignment before upload so scaling does not conceal framing differences.

Can I use the slider on a phone?
Yes. The canvas supports touch dragging. A horizontal page gesture can sometimes scroll, so start near the center and move deliberately.
Can I embed this slider on another website?
This tool currently creates and downloads a comparison image. It does not generate an embeddable widget or hosted URL.
Are the photos uploaded?
No. They are decoded and drawn in your browser for the active page session.
Why do edges not match?
The photos were probably captured or cropped differently. Align them in an image editor around a fixed landmark, then upload the corrected pair.
